Returns & Exchanges
Orders placed on Madewell.com adhere to Madewell's return policy. If you are a Madewell customer and would like to request a return, please email us here or use the form found at the bottom of this page.
Please note that your order cannot be returned to a Madewell retail location.
In order to receive a full refund, your order must be returned as new and in its original packaging. Your order must be postmarked for return within 30 days of delivery. We cannot accept returned items that have been worn (yep, we check the soles and heels carefully). Please try shoes on a protected surface such as carpet or a rug, as returns of shoes with worn/scuffed soles will not be accepted. We reserve the right to deny credit for returned merchandise that does not meet our return policy.
Items marked as Final Sale may not be returned or exchanged. We know that buying Final Sale items can be complicated, so if you have any questions about the style or fit, please reach out to us before placing your order.
Please do not use the shoe box as a shipping box for your return, and if you do, a $10 restocking fee will be held from your refund or store credit.
We process returns and exchanges Monday - Friday. Please allow up to 4 business days from the date we receive your return to complete your refund or exchange, and then up to 10 business days for your bank to post the refund to your account. Your refund can only be credited back to the original form of payment.
Please only send domestic returns using our pre-paid return labels so that we can track your return. We cannot refund a lost return that was sent using a method other than our return labels.
International orders may only be returned for refund or store credit, and customers are responsible for shipping and any customs duties/fees for all international returns. Original shipping charges are not eligible for refund. Please contact us here or using the form below if you need to return an international order.
At this time, we are only able to process even exchanges. If you would like to exchange for a new color or size of the same style, you may do so by clicking the button below.
You will receive an order confirmation of the exchange, however your exchange will not ship until we have received your return.
To receive a different style, please return your original order and place a new order for the new style.

Once we receive your returned items, your refund will be processed within 2-3 business days. You should see a credit to your original payment method within 10 business days after your refund is processed.

Your exchange order will process once we receive the item(s) you are returning. We offer free ground shipping, so you should receive your new items pretty quickly.
